NetOne’s Mobile Financial Services- OneMoney rebranding and aggressive marketing saw the business reaping rewards as it has increased its active subscribers by more than 49 percent as well as gaining market share this year. Zimbabwe’s second largest mobile network operator NetOne posted a profit of US$1, 2 million in May owing to several strategies implemented under the helm of its new chief executive officer Mr Lazarus Muchenje. French President Emmanuel Macron has announced the launch of a EUR65 million (US$76.14 million) fund dedicated to providing access to small ticket funding for African startups, as part of the unveiling of a “Digital Africa” initiative. The Zimbabwe Power Company (ZPC) yesterday started drawing down on the $1 billion facility extended by the Chinese Government through China Export Import Bank meant to finance the Hwange Power Station 7 and 8 expansion to increase electricity generation capacity of the thermal power station.
