MultiChoice Talent Factory Portal Introduces Instant Messaging Feature

MultiChoice Talent factory (MTF) portal has introduced a real-time messaging component to allow the sharing of information amongst connected members with interests in film-making operatives across the African continent.

This new feature forms part of the MTF initiative’s commitment to ignite Africa’s creative industries.

MultiChoice Zimbabwe Publicity and Public Relations Manager Liz Dziva, said:“The portal was launched in March as a pan-African digital marketplace for the film and television industry. Giving access to essential information about all aspects of this creative industry,”.

“The portal offers open, free access to film creatives across Africa to showcase their talent, access opportunities, stay up to date with industry news and expand their industry networks. Since launching just a few months ago, the portal has registered more than 15 000 profiles, including a great many Zimbabweans.”

The new messaging component will allow anyone with a registered profile to connect with other creatives within the portal’s network in real-time.

“The feature facilitates greater collaboration and knowledge-sharing, which is recognised by MultiChoice Africa, creator of the portal and the whole MultiChoice Talent Factory initiative,” said Ms Dziva.

According to MultiChoice, the portal is the third touch-point of the whole shared-value initiative, which was created with the launch of MTF Academies in three regional hubs and will continue will the MTF master classes.

Ms Dziva said the three MTF Academies, one each for Southern , East and West Africa, are hosting a 12-month film training program aimed at increasing the skills base of the next generation of film creatives.

The academies are half-way through year one and are already searching for 60 aspiring film and TV creatives from across the continent for the second academy year, which starts in October.
