#MondayBlues: Machengete Trial Postponed…Again!

Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (Potraz) Director General Gift Machengete’s criminal abuse of office trial has failed to take off yet again today at the magistrates court due to the absence of the prosecutor.

The prosecutor presiding over the matter was reported to have been sick and could not attend over the matter, TechnoMag has learnt.

It seems the matter continuously keeps loosing ground as both the state and the prosecutor take turns in a no show appearance, putting into doubt the alleged evidence against the Potraz Director General.

The state was left with no choice but to relax the bail conditions and ordered the release of his passport so he attends to other business after already missing the past event due to bail conditions

The state has given back Dr Machengete his passport so that he travels for an Annual General Meeting of the Communications Regulators’ Association of Southern Africa (CRASA) which started today in Tanzania.

The trial has been postponed to 5 April.
