The CEO of ZOL Zimbabwe, Mr Denny Marandure has been appointed as the new President of the Marketers Association of Zimbabwe (MAZ) at the recently held 10th Annual Marketers Convention held in Victoria Falls last week.
His appointment comes at a time when MAZ conducts it’s periodic renewal of the Association’s leadership where a new president together with a new board are appointed.
Addressing Marketers at the Convention Mr Marandure acknowledged his predecessor Agrippa Mugwagwa whose term just came to an end and assured him that he was ready to take up the task and deliver tangible results in his tenure.
“I want my first discourse at this Convention as the MAZ President to bring feelings of hope for the Association, to instill confidence that you have made the right decision in electing me,”
“I am incredibly thankful to receive this honor of being elected as the new president of the Marketers Association of Zimbabwe, I could not have achieved this without the support of the people here and those who believed in me, especially my boss, Mr Wellington Makamure, GCEO of Liquid Telecom Southern Africa, who believed and took a chance on me, and gave me my first job when i returned to Zimbabwe from America,” he added.
He also urged marketers in the digital age to embrace technology and be competitive on the global market.
“Marketing without data is like driving with your eyes closed, MAZ will not operate in isolation from the rest the world, the Association needs to take its capacity in the new age and foster the development of new aptitudes in line with the advent of technology,” adding “whatever we market today we are marketing to the digital millennial consumers,”
Denny Marandure has previously scooped prizes for the Marketing (Orienters) Oriented CEO of the Year, for two consecutive years.
Besides being ZOL CEO, Mr Marandure has vast international experience in the corporate world and takes over the reins of the MAZ Presidency after gaining wealth of experience following two-decades in the United States.
He has held influential positions with Top Fortune 500 companies in America, including PriceWaterhouseCoopers, Verizon Communications, Lucent Technologies and IMB and currently serves as CEO of one of the local leading internet service providers ZOL Zimbabwe.
