Chinese group Huawei intends to increase its investments in Angola in the areas of information technology as well as in the supply of technological solutions, said Huawei’s director in Angola, Ryan Li.
At the end of a hearing granted by the President of the Republic to a delegation from Huawei, Ryan Li said the meeting discussed technological solutions, given the Chinese group’s interest in expanding its investments in Angola.
The managing director of Huawei in Angola said that some of the group’s plans for the Angolan market were presented to President João Lourenço, according to the Angop news agency.
The Minister of Telecommunications and Information Technologies, José Carvalho da Rocha, who was present at the audience, welcomed the Chinese group’s decision to increase investments in Angola and said that official technical teams will now meet and identify which projects to carry out.
Carvalho da Rocha said that with regard to the possible installation of a centre to assemble telephones, computers and other electronic equipment, nothing has been decided and the proposals and intentions presented by the delegation of the Huawei group will be analysed. (macauhub
