After having spent almost a decade at what was once Zimbabwe’s most promising mobile network and fastest growing telecoms company of the yester years, Francis Chimanda has today left Telecel Zimbabwe.
#MondayBlues can exclusively reveal the manager has spent his last day at work today, as he looks towards greener pastures else where in Zimbabwe, (name withheld)
Francis Chimanda was the Public Relations, Corporate Social Responsibility and Sponsorship Manager for 9 years at Telecel Zimbabwe.
Unfortunately Telecel Zimbabwe has been loosing some critical Human Resources in the past 5 years owing mainly to shareholder squabbles before ,during and after the government of Zimbabwe took a majority stake of the asset.
The focus on Telecel has been diverted on the stakeholder warfare with new tussle being waged between the local stakeholders while government is advancing towards 100% ownership.
Telecel Zimbabwe has been the least invested telecoms company in Zimbabwe struggling with basic 4g deployment and capital investment at the backdrop of serious competition against NetOne and Econet who have been recieving massive capitalization.
This has greatly affected market confidence of the asset seeing it lose more than 1 million subscribers from 2.5million to a paltry 1.2million in the last 4 years.
Top exodus of human capital in the same 5 years include the departure of top executive Nkosinathi Ncube and Clever Isaya who joined NetOne, Tendai Chirokote the Chief Technology Officer amongst others
