#ZimStartup Creates Telephone-to-Mobile Router

That moment when you miss a multi-million deal all because your telephone office was unreachable, you will realise you are not smart. Most companies on their websites have their telephone numbers and there some business cards without mobile numbers.

But if you thought of directing these office calls to your mobile number, it’s a hassle avoided. This is why budding inventor Philip Imbayarwo invented a prototype of his Telephone to Mobile Router which he exhibited at the Zimbabwe ICT Innovation Drive launch.

“This invention is a portable machine that directs the call from a telephone straight into your mobile cell phone,” he says. “This machine is a technology that I think can help and improve the lives of the business people especially here in my country. This machine is there to make the flexibility in communication and to make it easy for the users to receive calls from their offices while around or off from their work place.”

Imbayarwo was inspired by his employer who missed a landline call while somewhere else.

“What happened was that one day my boss was out of the office when the telephone rang. It was his call. So this idea quickly came to me that a telephone call could be redirected to the mobile phone. It didn’t take me long to complete this prototype. It took me about two days,” he said.

He said, “With this type of a machine the users of the landline machine is supposed to register their mobile cell phone number into the system of the telephone call diverting machine before leaving their offices and activate it on by setting the time of the call waiting period of the caller that is if the person calling you must have to wait for about three seconds before his call is being diverted straight into your personal phone.

“This machine also is simple to use in a way that the owner can also get to set the time limit for the call after answering in a way to reduce the costs of the calls.”

The router was made of two phone, a timer and motor to switch the calls.

“There is Cellphone 1 which represents the telephone and Cellphone 2 which represents the machine that will divert the call into your phone. There is also a motor which is the automatic switch for the clock and a motor Clock which represents the call timer,” said Imbayarwo.

Here is how the router works

On the above diagram we have the small mobile phone which is turned off and this phone represents the actual TELEPHONE LANDLINE THAT RECEIVES the calls from a caller outside the business and this mobile phones receive a call then starts to ring and when it starts to ring it turns on the clock which is in yellow that will represents the call waiting period time that the user of the machine sets before leaving the office and lets say if you set two seconds before the divetion of the call starts then when that two seconds reaches the clock in yellow will then direct the signal to the small cell phone which is turned on and this cell phone is the last stage of the machine that will then direct that call from the first phone which is turned off to your own personal phone.

The phone which is turned on on the diagram represents that device that you will register your number before leaving the office and after registering your number when a call is made it will direct the call from your smart cell phone.

There is a motor on my diagram which represents an automatic circuit completing device and this motor is activated by the phone which is turned off on the diagram(TELEPHONE) which will turn on the clock that represents the timer. The yellow clock will then wait for the number of seconds to reach so that the call will be made into your own personal via the cell phone which is turned on, on the diagram.
