TelOne intends to complete rolling out new area codes across the country by June 2018.
TelOne began the role out of new area codes last year under the National Broadband (NBB) project.
The company reminded members of the public through an advertisement in The Herald that the area code for Harare had changed. Harare’s area code previously 04 was now changed to 024.
On the company’s website section called Number Change update, TelOne said they will complete the project by end of June this year.
“From the 30th of June, the TelOne upgrade will be complete and your old number will stop working. You will then permanently enjoy all the benefits that come with the new consolidated system of your new number,” read the notice.
Areas already upgraded under the project include Ruwa, Nkayi, Zvishavane, Karoi, Kariba, Plumtree, Mazowe, Rusape, Chiredzi, Nyanga, Marondera and Chitungwiza with Juliasdale, Shurugwi and Chipangayi being the latest beneficiaries.
