FORMER Zimpapers Marketing and Social Media Manager, Godfrey Koti has landed top post at Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA) where he assumes the Head of Corporate Affairs post.
His appointment was effective February 1 and he takes over from former ZTA communications head Mr Sugar Chagonda who recently left the organization. In an interview with TechnoMag, Chief Koti said he will bring onto the ZTA table his diverse expertise in the digital media to market Zimbabwe as a destination to its wider market.
Through media campaigns developed from a communications strategy married to a digital strategy, I will make sure that the created awareness programs will be designed to reach investors, consumers, targeted audience and other stakeholders.
Other organizations he has worked include the Zimbabwe Cricket as the Media and Communication Manager, Star FM and was later on appointed Social Media Manager at Zimpapers, he was also acting Head of Digital Services before he resigned Early October in last year
Chief Koti will be responsible for creating and communicating a favourable public image for ZTA as there organization has been shying away from the media and already ZTA now has an online presence since he started.
By the close of year 2017, it was estimated that arrivals had reached close to 2.2 million as tourism is deemed the fasted growing sector internationally hence the need to market the destination Zimbabwe
ZTA seems to be moving in line with the digital in its quest to drive and aggressively market Zimbabwe as a destination.
