The ministry of Information Communication Technology, Postal and Courier services, (MICTPS) will this Wednesday (14 September) touch down in Bulawayo to identify ICT projects by youths which are set to benefit from the $25million ICT innovation fund.
ICT minister, Hon Supa Mandiwanzira, since he formally announced his vision of the program will be touching down in Bulawayo to officiate the event, as he seeks to drive the ICT sector by empowering the young innovators in the nation.

Hon Mandiwanzira last year challenged the nation that Zimbabwe can make its own Whatsapp and Facebook solutions to create the most impacting and successful solutions that can sustain the industry.
The Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe, Potraz, is coordinating the Zimbabwe ICT Innovators fund on behalf of the ministry of ICTPS, where ICT innovators from Matabeleleland are invited to come out for the inaugural showcase.
The objective of the showcase is to identify, harvest, and support young innovators in the country to develop their ideas, protect their intellectual property and deploy their technical solutions for use in the Zimbabwe and global market.

This is an opportunity not miss for any young and outstanding tech players from Bulawayo, Mat North, Mat South, Masvingo and Midlands Province as it sets them apart to benefit from the government funds that are set to stimulate the sector.
The event is set to run into late hours of the day as young innovators are set to pitch and sell their concepts to a panelist, as the nation is set to stimulate and activate ideas which in most cases have been lacking capital injection.
Zimbabwean young technoprenuers from the province are thereby being called to convene at Holiday Inn, to be part of this historic event which will writes the dawn if a new Era for Zimbabwe ICT sector.
Thousands of Zimbabwe tech players have good ideas, but all die a still birth due to lack of capital injection and proper business models to take them forward. The ceiling age group for the players is 40 years.
The official launch of the ICT Innovation fund is set for Harare at an earlier date yet to be announced.
