While Diamond FM went live on the 4th of November 2015, on 103FM in Manicaland, last Friday was a big day for the province which saw high delegation pulling through for the official launch of the radio station.

The mood was lightened , showcasing the best of Manicaland, seeing the voices behind the Manica dialect coming out in open to celebrate and champion their own province, and no doubt they have so much pride in being the “Wasu” while the delegation also had a feel of the new studio.
The minister of media, information and broadcasting services Hon Chris Mushowe, who was the guest of honour was also supported by other high dignitaries for the official launch of the radio station.
The Minister of State for Manicaland provincial affairs cde Mandi Chimene, Mutare City Mayor Tatenda Nhamarare, Permanent Secretary in the ministry of of Media Information Broadcasting Services Mr George Charamba, Zimpapers Chairman Mr Delma Lupepe, Board member Felix Moyo, Zimpapers Group CEO Mr Pikirayi Deketeke, Chief Marketing officer Mr Mandimutsira and Chief Technology Officer Mr Darlick Marandure and other Top Zimpapers executives were present to witness the launch.
Hon Chris Mushowe encouraged Zimpapers and other media houses to continue being dynamic in this highly digital and dynamic sector lest they will be redundant.
He also warned other radio licence holders who have not yet started publishing to put their house in order lest they loose their licences.
Zimpapers CEO Mr Pikirayi Deketeke was confident the new radio station would be a major success as they continuously embrace the new digital opportunities.
Zimpapers is already being reported to have been at an advanced stage to unveil a new IP based TV.
