President Mugabe Opens The Tech and Education Expo

Few hours ago, the president of the republic of Zimbabwe, cde Robert Gabriel Mugabe officially opened the highly publiscised 2nd education conference and expo 2015 at the Harare International Conference Centre.

Running under the theme “Growing Socio-Economic Opportunities through Quality Education in the 21st Century”, this year’s expo had a strong emphasis on the pedagogy and driving ICTs as the bedrock to enhance education in Zimbabwe.

Speaking during the official opening, The president of Zimbabwe said that in this dgital age we need to make sure that only students should be equipped with the high technology but also the teachers will need to be trained.
“I was glad to hear that there is teacher education in science maths and technology, these are of paramount importance in this present age of ICTs to equip the teacher”
The president highlighted the importance of such a forum which attracted more than 400 delegates and most headmasters of secondary and high schools in Zimbabwe to deliver quality education in Zimbabwe.

“The education conference and expo brings together education experts, partners stakeholders and leading education systems and institution in an endeavour to create a shared space in this era of new technology “

    A much needed event particularly for school heads. As a founder of an educational software start up, I have faced unnecessary resistance from school heads who do not appreciate the need to invest in new technologies.
