Pupils in Kuwadzana 4 Council primary School were jumpstarted straight in into the technological bandwagon when a state of the art computer lab or e- library was recently commissioned over the weekend by the ICT Minister Honorable Nelson Chamisa in Kuwadzana.
Addressing delegates who came to witness the occasion, the ICT minister said it is government`s high priority to develop and educate the minors as they usher them into the technological era , fully cognisant of the potential in the young ones.
“The future leaders and presidents are amongst these pupils, here , let’s give them all the support we can, when I was a scholar in Gutu, there was no such thing as technology but if we make such platforms accessible to these young children, we are fostering their education and our own future”
A total of 40 Hewlett Packard (HP) desktops packed up the primary school lab as the students quickly glued themselves to the screens , exhibiting their basic computer skills to the parents and other invited guests who looked on in excitement.
The school head said they were excited to be the first school in Kuwadzana- Warren park area to unveil such a laboratory to their primary school students.
The computers are stand-alone HP 2010s powered by a 2,8 ghz processor, 2gig RAM memory, Gaming Video Adapter and a 320 Hard disk drive Capacity with an 18 inch LED monitor connected to the internetGEDSC DIGITAL CAMERA

It is highly commendable to see government ministers walk the talk as we see real improvements on ground. Government as an enabler still has lots to do as we seek to bridge the technological divide but when local authorities and other relevant stakeholders appreciate the need to throw weight behind ICTs, our penetration rates are also bound to surge.
The internet connectivity speeds and modes of connection were not ascertained while the computer hardware models and specifications are a sure serious investment achieved by the council based primary school.
There were poets, cultural dances and poems recited on the day by the students as entertainment before the event was officially opened.
