PC Tip of the day:Understanding System Restore

In the case of a malware/virusĀ  attack the System Restore can be used to restore the computer to its original state before the attack. This will not only remove the virus but will also remove the damage that has been caused by the virus. Before Windows 7 using System Restore has been something of a gamble. There was no way of telling which applications or drivers it might affect – you just had to try it and see.

To restore your computer. Right-click Computer, select Properties > System Protection > System Restore > Next, and choose the restore point you’d like to use. Click the new button to ‘Scan for affected programs’ and Windows will tell you which (if any) programs and drivers will be deleted or recovered by selecting this restore point.
