TechnoMag has just learnt that the decision was already passed on to Mr Kangai some few minutes ago as the state owned operator preps for the  audit which will be undertaken by private forensic auditors under the Comptroller and Auditor general.

In an official statement, the NetOne Board Chairman Mr Alex Marufu told TechnoMag that the decision was made in line with the board resolution and sending him on leave was in preparatory of the audit to be instigated, while the newly appointed Chief Operations Officer Mr Brian Mutandiro will be acting CEO.

In compliance with a resolution by the NetOne board in December 2015, The CEO of NetOne Mr Reward Kangai was today asked by the board to go on leave for 3 months to facilitate a forensic audit of the business.  This audit will be conducted by private forensic auditors under the direction of the Comptroller and auditor general.  During this period, newly appointed Chief Operating Officer Brian Mutandiro will be the acting CEO.

Efforts to contact Mr Kangai for a comment were fruitless as his mobile went on unanswered.

An analyst said they better find whatever they are looking for otherwise this has already  become the spark  that ignites a wild fire since all parties involved directly or indirectly are all well connected politicians, who will take the fight heads on.

The minister of ICT has however maintained that there is nothing personal going on at NetOne but simple professional audit to clear out issues raised by NetOne’s Chief Finance Officer (CFO) Mrs Sibusisiwe Ndlovu.

The latest moves are happening when NetOne is now at its best take off!
